Green Grass -- The Feel of It, The Taste of It

I have a confession to make. I'm a grazer. Yes, I love to eat green grass. I don't need the fiber, my tummy's not upset, I just love the taste of all that roughage. With spring finally here, there's no shortage of green, leafy stuff in our yard.

After I tank up, I'm ready for a good romp around the farm. Here I'm checking the perimeter in case a chicken flew over the fence. I don't allow chickens in the yard. I shoo them right back where they came from.

Then I indulge in a good roaching. Man, I love the smell of all that fresh grass when I roll in it.

My Boy and I like to play DogBall. I don't always understand the rules of the game, but whatever makes him laugh is fun for me, too.

Glynn wastes no time and starts running right out the door. She's a serious runner, I tell you. It's like she's packing the most speed into every moment out in the yard. Go, Glynn!
Cap prefers a more sedate pace around the grass. He likes to do a lot of sniffing. Not sure what he's looking for, but he sniffs the place over good. Sometimes he finds a misplaced squeakie toy.

Here comes Glynn again! Her ears flap up and down, and she has a big smile on her face.
Being outside in the green grass always makes us very happy dogs! We've waited all winter for this.

A friend once told us, "You can either have a pretty yard full of flowers, or you can have dogs. I choose dogs". We agree!

We recently read that the taste of fresh grass, especially with a bit of dew on it, is irresistible to many dogs.

I for one love to chomp, chomp, chomp as I walk along. Mom says, "No, Jakey, you know you'll only throw it all up in a minute or two." And that's exactly what happens. Chomp, chomp, chomp -- then stop for a moment to retch and up it comes.

Just Harry chomps a bit too, especially when he is nervous -- but it seems to stay down.

But yes, fresh green grass is one of my vices!!!

You can see our chomping on one of the videos we posted recently.

Munch on, Tell,

Your green grass is so enviable. We are another four to six weeks away... things are still brown here. Guess we'll just have to come back and look at the good action shots of you all in your green pasture. We can always imagine.....

We like to graze, too, Tell! We usually get in trouble for throwing up the grass in the house, but it's sooooo worth it! You all look very happy being outside in the beautiful green grass! Happy Easter!

You look sooooo happy! We'd love to one day run free. Maybe that will happen. Time will tell. In the meantime, we love looking at the pictures of you on your farm!

Heya William Tell,
Boy are you lucky. We've trampled dead all the grass in our paddock so we have to escape out into the yard or go for a walk to get to taste grass. We seem to remember that spring grass is sweeter. Anyway, we our blog buddies with Gus and Teka so the Muzzer will vouch for us (we hope). We are trying to get guest book signatures from all 50 states and still don't have Oklahoma. So if it isn't too much trouble, could you please stop by our blog (http://bumpasshounds.blogspot.com) and sign our guest book. We would be most apprciative.
